A type r got rear ended by a dedicated domestic dragster who was showing off on the pit return road. The R probably took $400 damage for bumper replacement, but the dragger was all messed up. Fiberglass cracked all over the front corner.
What would be safe to lubricate the bypass rod with? Will the diaphragm put up with petroleum distillates or not? Mine is not exactly smooth.
Thanks,
Greg

Hey Holden would you consider using some slicks??...with that 101mph trap speed you would probaly be running low 13's on slicks

Greg,
Did your trapspeeds increase over your 6 psi runs?

CivicR: I'm not that into dragging to get slicks. R compounds for autocrossing would be first.
Marc: Trap speeds are identical, but I had no bogging at 6psi.

Nice post Greg, but could you give us a few more details? http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Anyway, the bogging sounds like fuel issues or it's pulling alot of timing. Your BTC settings aren't very extreme though. Perhaps the J&S is working too hard?
You're right about the 17's not being the best wheels for dragging! Do you still have your stockers? Your best 60 ft of 2.2 isn't the best in the world but it isn't anything to be ashamed about, especially with the 17's.
I hate to take the easy way out and say just take it to a dyno, but..... That really takes all the guesswork out.
This is a little discouraging though. I'm about to make the plunge into 9 psi territory with my little m45. There seems to be severaly people on here that has turned up the boost to see minimal, if any, gains. I experienced this when my quaife went in. After that install the 60 ft time increased http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif I just need more practice, just like you.
Keep your head up and hit a dyno asap. Keep us updated.

Oh, and the head wind thing couldn't help any. This just sounds like a bad day all in all. If only you could have run the track backwards and had a tail wind http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The only thing about the ignition that didn't roll out of the factory are the 8000 mile old NGK BKR7-E11's gapped at .038.
I'll put new ones in this week and try 0.035.
A new honda rotor and cap and MSD wires will be coming soon.
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
You also didn't mention what kind of ignition or plugs you're running. I doubt the bogging is related, but you could be losing power up high if the gap is too big and you're still using the stock ignition and coil. If you haven't already, try reducing the gap to the range of .035" and see if that makes a difference.
